Mary Potter Kenyon has been writing ever since she was a little girl with an Indian Chief tablet. She has had over 200 articles and essays published in newpapers and magazines such as Home Education, The Sun, Back Home, Backwoods Home, Our Iowa, The Writer, among others. Essays of hers have appeared in Chicken Soup for the Mother’s Soul, Voices of Caregiving, Love is a Flame, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Answered Prayers, God Makes Lemonade, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Food and Love, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Messages from Heaven, and Women Reinvented. Mary does couponing and writing workshops for local colleges and public speaking for women’s groups. She has a weekly couponing column with the Dubuque Telegraph Herald newspaper. Mary is currently working with her agent on an ethnographic research book about couponing. Mary became a widow in March of 2012, losing her best friend and husband David.
